Maxx, I had the same situation. The girl was Chinese. I've lived abroad for years in my trade and met her on a project in China. She wasn't into Christmas, and 2 months after our marriage, I went to my folks home in NY without her. While I was gone, she went to the police and said I was mentally abusing her. When I returned a week later, she picked a fight and I told her it wasn't going to work out. She wrapped herself around my recently shattered foot (and still in recovery) and wouldn't let go for hours. Finally, I had to call the police as I would never hit a woman. As I dialed the number, she dove for the phone and ripped the phone out of the wall, hitting her hip on a glass dining room table leaving a quarter size bruise. She ran to the neighbors home at 0 degrees and no shoes where they were having a cocktail party. They called the police, and I went to jail, because of the previous reports she had filed. (Which she didn't want to do anything,just to have it on record) When I got out of jail the next morning, I had to get a police escort to get some things from my home. When we went inside, there was a note saying she was at a battered women's shelter. They stuck behind her like I was a rapist. I've never felt so disgraced in my life. It was a small town in Michigan and the entire police force was saying things to me that just killed me. I was so disgraced, I moved 2 months later. She later told me that her girlfriend Ellen from San Francisco, who's new husband was an attorney, coordinated the whole thing. She got a new car and a few thousand, but I had a prenuptual agreement, which she despised from the start. It was the best thing I've ever done.
